Our events programme

From creative industry events to the Gourmet Gallery - you’re sure to find plenty to enjoy in our events programme!

The Calendar of Events included more than 3,000 events.

Special focus in the programme 2009

A special focus was on the Guest of Honour, on Education for the Future and on Creative Content.

The newest key focus at the Frankfurt Book Fair was Creative Content. Conceived for all professionals whose work is linked both to publishing and other creative industries, this is the place for out-of-the-box ideas - and new partnerships for pioneering the digital future.

News Ticker China

The German daily newspaper “taz” presents at www.buchmesse.taz.de - a German-Chinese journalists’ project specially launched for this year’s Book Fair and its Guest of Honour China. The taz has created an independent and openly opinionated journalistic platform led by three renowned Chinese journalists, five taz colleagues/writers at the Fair, further supported by four Chinese translators and two English translators.

For those who would like to follow the discussion in English, we have translated the most crucial articles.

The forums

Our forums offer orientation in the diversity of events and themes of the Frankfurt Book Fair. In the forums, the focus is on specific trade topics, and everyone talks to everyone: authors to publishers, politicians to the experts and stars to starlets.
